He'd dressed again after his run, putting his socks, shoes, belt, and jacket back on. Nathaniel can smell Asher through the door, and he lingers outside, brow pressed to the wood.

It hurts his heart to think his lover -- oh, he had trusted Asher -- had used him. Paid him for sex. Paid him for what he would have willingly given for free now. Paid for that small piece of himself that had been no one's until Asher.

Nathaniel sighs softly, the fury having bled from him with the run, and he finally turns the knob of the door, walking into the room without knocking. He didn't need to knock. Asher would have heard his very heartbeat through that door.

He's dressed in black from head to toe, the only thing not leather is the shirt tucked into his trousers. His hair is unbound, a little wild from the forest, and he shuts the door, leaning against it as he stares at Asher.

Everything about his posture, his scent, the shadows in his eyes, speaks to not be touched. If he could, he'd have this conversation without being looked at either, but he knows that is impossible.

When he speaks, he can't seem to help the sharp edge to his words, a hardness coming to his eyes as he looks at that beautiful, perfect face he loves so much. "Was I worth it?" he asks. "Worth every penny you paid, or should I be offering you a belated refund?"

Nathaniel frowns.

"You could never disappoint me."

He was disappointment enough to himself.

"Mon chevalier, remember?" he asks.

Asher nods, tugging Nathaniel closer. He wants to live up to Nathaniel's expectations, be the perfect man that Nathaniel believes him to be. It's part of the reason he refuses to mark Nathaniel further; because then Nathaniel will find out he is a fraud. That he's not good, not at all.

Nathaniel settles firmly against Asher, the leather of his clothes creaking a bit.

"Can I ask you something?" he murmurs, his eyes taking on a serious glint again.

Asher pauses, then nods slowly.

"Of course, mon chat. Ask me anything," he murmurs, though he has a feeling he'll regret saying it.

"Did you want to be a vampire?"

Nathaniel bites his lip, uncertain if he should have even asked, but he figures if Asher got time with his former self, he could ask at least one question.

"I was not given a choice," Asher murmurs, his face growing blank, lest he gave away any emotion stirred up by the thoughts of Belle, of how he came to be as he is now.

"I cannot imagine any other life, now. If I were given the choice now...I do not know what I would choose."

He knows that expression, and Nathaniel ceases any further questioning.

"I know the feeling," he murmurs, looking away.

Asher gently touches Nathaniel's cheek, turning his face towards him, leaning up to softly kiss Nathaniel's mouth, close-lipped, sweet.

"What did the others think of your younger self?" He asks.

"They wanted to save me."

Nathaniel brushes his lips across Asher's.

"You all want to save me, even now."

"You inspire protectiveness in people," Asher murmurs, sliding his arms around Nathaniel, slowly leaning back, until he's half-lying on his bed, Nathaniel sprawled on top of him. He kisses Nathaniel again, distracting him.

Nathaniel shrugs out of the long jacket, tossing it to the floor.

"I think I need to give you something, to make up for something that night. A... disappointment... of yours."

Asher frowns, torn between curiosity and deep suspicion.

"I do not need anything, mon chat," he murmurs, gently kneading the back of Nathaniel's neck.

"Of course you do."

Nathaniel pulls back enough to take off his shirt, bringing Asher's hands to his hips, to hold him, touch him. He flicks his hair over one shoulder and leans down, hovering over Asher's lips.

"The blood of a heroin-addicted mortal couldn't have satisfied you, even if you loved me," he murmurs. "I want to make up for that."

Asher hums softly, brushing a kiss against Nathaniel's throat.

"I drank so that I could fuck you, so that I could bring you pleasure," he murmurs, his lips against Nathaniel's skin, fangs pricking soft flesh. "It was not about my satisfaction." He's a little hungry, yes, but feeding off Nathaniel is rarely about sating that need. Not solely that need, anyway...

"Yours," Asher murmurs, entirely distracted by said wily cat in his lap, his hands cupping Nathaniel's leather-clad ass, exploring slowly.

Nathaniel noses Asher's chin, until his vampire's throat was exposed. He licks broadly up the pale expanse, nipping just above the vocal chords.

"Then my satisfaction should still be a priority, and it would satisfy me greatly if you would feed," he says, littering Asher's throat with little bites as he presses back into those hands.

Asher shudders, his eyes falling closed, making a soft sound in his throat as Nathaniel nuzzles and licks his neck. His hands knead Nathaniel's ass, head falling back.

"And if I have already fed this evening?" From Bar, so not nearly as satisfying as Nathaniel's blood, but nonetheless, it is enough to have him growing hard as he rocks up against Nathaniel.

"Then," he murmurs, zeroing in on one portion of Asher's throat, "I think we may have a problem and I should go sleep with Jason until you're hungry again."

Nathaniel smirks as he sucks fiercely on that spot he's been biting and licking, moving against Asher slowly. It gives him a deep sense of pleasure that he can do this to Asher, that he can make him hard with kisses and touches, that it's him, nothing else.

Asher pouts, just a little, though there's a playful twinkle in his eyes.

"So you do not want to spend time with me if I do not feed upon you?"

Nathaniel lifts his head in order to look into the playful gaze, smirking.

"You wish to simply spend time with me?"

See the kitty-gray eyes flash with warning for Asher to choose his words wisely.

Asher nods, wary of that flash of warning in Nathaniel's eyes.

"I wish to spend time with you, as I always do," he murmurs, still cupping Nathaniel's ass, hips rolling, pushing up against Nathaniel's, almost absent-mindedly.

"I do not need to feed." He grins, a little wolfishly. "I would very much like for us to be wearing less clothes, but truthfully, I would be happy to sit here and read to you."

Nathaniel sits back a little, head tilting curiously.

"You always feed when we have sex."

He's almost confused by this change in the pattern, but his hands move to Asher's shirt, quickly popping each pearl button, his eyes never leaving Asher's.

"The moon is almost full," he says, and he can smell the heat of Asher, his beast snapping its teeth, wanting to sink into flesh.

"Because I need to," Asher explains softly. "Without blood, I cannot perform." He arches his hips off the bed, rubbing suggestively against Nathaniel.

He slides his hands up Nathaniel's back, then down, fingertips sliding (with a little effort) into the back of Nathaniel's sinfully tight leather pants. He likes pre-full-moon Nathaniel.

"Mmm, I can tell," he murmurs approvingly.

Nathaniel growls softly as their groins rub together, and he shoves Asher's shirt aside. He leans down, capturing a nipple between his teeth, his tongue flicking over it.

A pre-full moon Nathaniel is not likely to wait until given permission to do a damn thing. His nails rake over newly exposed skin while he sucks the nipple between his lips, thrusting lightly against Asher with a moan.
