Jason hadn't returned to the bedroom, and Nathaniel had fallen asleep in Jason's bed waiting for him through the afternoon.

His hair was loose, spread across the white sheets. He's been asleep from mid-afternoon, pleasantly dreaming, sleeping alone for the first time in quite a while.

A small step, he would say, but a step nevertheless.

Asher watches, enraptured as he always is by Nathaniel's beauty, by the sight of him utterly undone. He thrusts hard, snarling as he fights against the seductive pull of Nathaniel's body, wanting this to last, wanting to hold on a little longer.

Why should he, though? He brushes stray strands of hair back from Nathaniel's face, looking deep into his eyes as he comes.

Nathaniel stares, watching, panting. He shivers at the wet warmth he feels within him, but he doesn't move his hands from above his head. He does tilt his head enough to kiss the inside of his vampire's wrist, though his eyes never leave Asher's.

As the heat of pleasure begins to cool, his eyes slowly bleed from cat-like gray back to lilac. His chest tightens, fills with so much love for Asher, but what words he would whisper are caught in his throat. But they are there in his eyes, as clear as day, for Asher to see.

Nathaniel withholds nothing from his vampire, giving him everything he possibly can.

Asher bows his head, resting his forehead against Nathaniel's, eyelids falling closed, hiding bright blue. He's breathing softly, heart thudding still as he comes down.

"Mon jolie chat," he murmurs, brushing a kiss across Nathaniel's lips. "What I did to deserve you, I do not know. I cannot regret it, though." He smiles gently.

Regardless of not being told he may, Nathaniel moves his hands so he can thread his fingers through Asher's hair.

He smiles against Asher's lips. "Funny, I was thinking the same thing of you," he murmurs. Nathaniel kisses Asher slowly, softly, and then whispers, "I love you," the words at home on his tongue, especially after the intensity of their lovemaking.

Whatever either of them had done to deserve the other, Nathaniel's glad for it.

Asher merely kisses Nathaniel in reply, the emotion there even if he doesn't say it. He sighs happily, leaning towards Nathaniel's soft touches, melting a little more at the stroke of fingers through his hair.

Nathaniel chuckles, the sound a little rough from his throat, then he begins to purr. Happiness, contentment, and warmth simply radiate off the leopard in waves as he pets his lover.

"Now I'm too tired for that shower," he teases, continuing to purr even during the words, giving them an odd, trilling lilt.

Asher smiles, closing his eyes, resting his cheek on Nathaniel's shoulder, positively snuggling against him.

"Later," he murmurs, sighing happily, his fingers stroking up and down Nathaniel's side as he sprawls against his leopard, covering him like a blanket. "I do not feel like moving just yet."

The smiles he gives the ceiling is simply blissful.

"I don't want you to move yet," he says, content to remain a sweaty, sticky mess. "I like where you are."

He smelled of Asher, through and through, and he wasn't really looking to even dampen that scent. The shower could wait.

The whole damn world could wait, as far as Nathaniel was concerned.

He was happy.
