It had taken him some time to figure out who to talk to, but Nathaniel had finally managed to score the stage in the club in Delicate Flowers from 5am until 7am. It was perfect, with two poles set up for their use.

Nathaniel unlocks Jason's door and steps in, grinning.

"Jason?" he calls, looking around the empty room. He hears the shower shut off and goes to the bathroom door, opening it. "You suck at being ready on time, you know that?" he asks with a laugh. "I left a perfectly nice vampire in a lovely, warm bed to come and dance with you."

"Mmm, not today."

He finishes his bottle.

"But I did invite Asher to watch us sometime."

Jason rolls his eyes. "Oh great."

He does smile, though. "You think if I dance horribly enough he'll get up here and show us how it's done?"

Nathaniel grins at Jason.

"If he dances half as well as he fucks, I think you're in for a treat if you get him up there."

Jason snorts. "I'm almost half jealous of you, you know."

He gives a stretch, then drop to the floor to do a more thorough job of it. "We'll have to find a way to set him up: I can't pass this opportunity up."

"Why would you be jealous?"

Nathaniel joins Jason, working through a cool-down stretch.

Jason raises an eyebrow. "Are you serious? This is Asher we're talking about. Granted, he's a mopey motherfucker most of the time and I've never really been all that into guys, but...come on. Who wouldn't want Asher?"

"A lot of people didn't before he was beautiful again."

He'd always wanted Asher, though, so the healing of the scars didn't much matter to him.

"Everyone turned away from him because he was scarred."

Jason gives him a look from a deep stretch. "I didn't. Jean Claude checked with me before offering to share me with Asher, and I sure didn't have any problem with it."

He frowns. "Though he did turn me down. Very politely, but..."

He laughs.

"Well, of course he would. I threw my version of a fit when I realized what his birthday gift was going to be for you. If your past self was asking his current self to roll him, after I'd been jealously childish, I'm not surprised Asher turned you down."

Nathaniel thinks it's rather sweet, really.

"When did you offer?" he asks, trying to pinpoint when that had happened.

Jason blinks, trying to sort through the time issues. "Um...Jean Claude offered right after Asher came to St. Louis. Maybe a few weeks after...wait, you were upset about Asher offering to roll me?"

Nathaniel blushes, looking up at the stage.

"It was stupid, Jason. I hadn't been with him long and I thought... I thought maybe what I was hoping was happening between us really wasn't if he could just... well. I was being dumb."

He cranes his neck, trying to see Nathaniel's face. "It's not dumb, Nat. I knew you had a thing for Asher. If it makes you feel any better, he still hasn't rolled me. I can just not call in the offer if you want."

He doesn't want his friend to hurt.

He turns to smile at Jason.

"He loves me. Even if he never says it, I know he does. I'm secure in that. I don't mind."

Jason smiles back. "Well then if you're ok with it, I'm going to try and call it in. I've always wanted to see if he's really as good as they say he is."

He sighs, craning his neck for a clock. "I don't think I can take any pole work today and we're close enough to time. You want to get some food? I need to get something in me before I go help Teja in the forge."

Nathaniel chuckles and stands up, grabbing his shirt.

"He really is that good, Jason, and I'll miss it."

Not that Asher's orgasmic bite had been why he'd wanted to be with the vampire, or why he'd stayed, but it had been quite lovely.

"Let's get some breakfast. We can work on the pole tomorrow."

Jason reaches for a hand up. "Lucky son-of-a-bitch," he mutters good-naturedly.

He gathers up his things and follows Nathaniel out. "I think I actually have an appetite today. Let's see if the kitchen can keep up with us today."
